In England, muffins are referred to as “American muffins” and English muffins are just called “muffins”. It makes perfect sense, but it’s one of those facts that you just don’t ever consider.

    and french toast is called cinnamon toast with egg, because they’re not very fond of the french.

    Also, a Royale is called a quarter-pounder in olde Blighty because of the queen.

    In England we actually call French Toast the delightful name of Eggy Bread and we Do NOT frillify it with Cinnamon. That makes it pants.

    The stuff about the Royale is also bollocks.

    What you blokes call “Waldorf Salad” is actually referred to here as a “gooseberry plonker” for obvious reasons. Makes me a bit slobberchoppery just to think it about. Minty!
