Muir Woods Panorama

Posted on April 09, 2007

I went out to Muir Woods in Mill Valley, California today and snapped this six shot, 165-degree panorama with my trusty Canon SD500. You can view the full-size version of this and all of my other panoramas here.

    Why 165?

It’s just a consequence of the stitching software. Pretty much it’s just random. I could do 360-degrees, but the scene starts to bend if you go farther than 180 due planar projection mathematics. All of my new shots are stitched using AutoPano under Windows. Some of the older ones were done using PTAssembler with Enblend.
