As far as Bonzo goes, The Big guy had a fast enough foot that he only needed one (big ass) base drum to pull off those monster beats and solos he played. He did a lot of foot slides and tom,tom,base,base, patterns which sound realy cool if you play the toms as doubles alternated between each hand rrbbllbb.
