I’m back in the acoustic game again. It felt weird playing a set of Al Foster Jr. Hip Gig drums for three solid hours tonight, but I finally got into some tasty grooves by the end of the night. This video is actually the first real song that I played on them. The christening so to speak. Enjoy. |

I thought you were going to get up at the end and start kicking stuff, all rock-and-roll-like.
I’m like the jazz version of Keith Moon. BOOOYAKASHA!
Wow! Thanks for posting this. I have been surfing the web for days looking for info on the Hipgig set — and would you believe that your video is the only one on the entire Internet which features somebody actually playing one? I presume you like your Hipgig. You sound great playing it — and I’m sure it’s a breeze to haul around. Yamaha or Musician’sFriend.com should post a link to your video on their sites. Were you using a double bass pedal?
