Bah, nothing to see here. Move along. Privoxy takes FOREVER to send the html back at the browser. Proximitron still rules the roost around here. Privoxy running on a 2000 MHz Athlon XP with 1.5 GB of memory is waaaaaaay slower than running Proximitron on a 800 MHz PIII with 512 MB of memory.

I’ve been using Proximitron for quite some time now. It seems to do a bang-up job quickly filtering-out useless cruft from the inferweb. The main problem that I have with Proximitron is that it’s poorly documented, rarely updated, and the user interface is absolutely horrible. Give me an elf binary and a config file any day over the pile of monkey dung that is the Proximitron interface. I just learned about this Lunix replacement for Proximitron called Privoxy. I’m going to test it out here at involution.com and attempt to move off of what I’m using now if feasible.

Some lame company managed to get a spam through my filters today. I just emailed their provider and attempted to have their web site shut down. These spammers need to learn the hard way!

Bumper is absolutely hilarious. He wrote the following testimonial for me on a large intarweb community site. It goes a little something like this.

I was working as Hoyhoy’s crew chief and some German DTM tech inspectors were hassling me about the milage we were getting out of the car. I couldn’t really understand everything they were saying, but apparently the Audi guys thought our fuel cell was larger than allowed. So I show the inspectors the cell, and that it has the proper litre specification on it, but that’s not good enough. They want it taken out of the car so they can check it themselves. Well, they watched me the whole time I was taking it out, like I was going to sneak another one out of the truck or something. We put it in the back of a little tractor thing and went to the tech building where they measured it and filled it and drained it and weighed the fuel and everything you would think a German tech inspector could think to do. Finally they put it back in the little tractor and hauled it back to our paddock, but when we got there the car was gone. Just then Hoyhoy comes driving back in from however many laps, slides it to a stop and jumps out yelling at me that it feels great, feels like it’s lost a hundred pounds. Needless to say we don’t race in Germany any more.

None of my machines were affected by sobig because I don’t use outlook. If you email me and say I sent it to you, I will make fun of you, perhaps even publically depending on what my magic 8-ball tells me to do that day.

I was down with some kind of illness for a week or so. Sorry for the lack of updates. Old pepper told me to get off my theremin and do an update. OK, here’s some pointless links that I liked. I never saw wild lizards before moving to Texas. I’m a little amazed with them. Today, I saw two lizards playing mommy and daddy in a tree outside the Riata laundromat. I managed to get secret squirrel picture of the whole sordid affair.
